Item no. 24085
Collection: Henry Foner

Cartoon by Fred Wright (1907-1984), the leading left-labor columnist from the 1940s through the 1970s, whose work was featured in the UE News, publication of the United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America (UERMWA) and dealt with both labor and social issues.

This cartoon shows that Big Business reaps greater profits while polluting the environment.  It is particularly timely now, when General Electric is bitterly opposing any attempt on the part of New York State to compel it to clean the Hudson River of the pollution it has caused.
