Wholesale workers picketing on Fifth Avenue and 21st Street. "Be a good neighbor--organize the store next door" was the slogan for these dry goods workers.
Local 65 of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union was first organized among Lower East Side Jewish workers in the wholesale dry goods industry, and grew rapidly by using such tactics as lunchtime mass picket lines.
