There was another writing team whose songs created quite a stir in their day and should not be forgotten. Their names are Saul Arons and Mike Stratton and there are a couple of their songs that I want to bring to your attention. This one and the next were featured at Cabaret TAC - the Theater Arts Committee.

Picket Line Priscilla (1937)
Music by Saul Arons
Lyrics by Mike Stratton

Picket line Priscilla –
Picket line Priscilla –
Had a line – a killer.
Every time she’ starts to function,
Bosses need a new injunction.

Picket line Priscilla –
Picket line Priscilla --
Had a line – a killer.

She could make those vigilantes
Run like ants were in their pantries –
Oh, that gal! She gave the judge a little talkin’-to
And next day they found him walkin’ too.

Picket line Priscilla –
Picket line Priscilla –
Had a line – a killer.

Bosses quivers just like Jello,
When he hears Priscilla bellow:
“Unfair!”  “Unfair! ”

Picket line Priscilla –
Picket line Priscilla –
Had a line – a killer.

Now she has to  pay the piper –
How she sighs with every diaper:
“Unfair!”  “Unfair! ”
I’ll say it really is unfair – yeah!
