Pardon Tom Mooney pamphlet Cover of 1929 pamphlet urging freedom for Tom Mooney, well known socialist and labor leader framed for bombing 1916 Prepardness Day Parade in San Francisco. [Tom Mooney was framed and convicted of bombing 1916 "prepare for war" parade. Bombing killed ten people, but Mooney, well-known socialist and labor leader, was demonstrably innocent. Nevertheless, and despite massive defense movement, Mooney served 23 years in California state prison. As cover illustration of booklet shows, Mooney aged terribly in prison and although eventually pardoned by California governor, could not resume labor activities after his release and died 1942, at age 50.
