Return to main page ↵

The longest-serving community board member in Manhattan, Doris Diether and has been standing up on behalf of affordable housing since 1960. Her many successes defending historic buildings against developers and politicians haven’t all been limited to the village, or to buildings; she started her activism with a protest against the powerful Robert Moses over a plan to do away with Shakespeare in the Park.
