Cartoon by Fred Wright (1907-1984), the leading left-labor columnist from the 1940s through the 1970s, whose work was featured in the UE News, publication of the United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America (UERMWA) and dealt with both labor and social issues. The Southern colonel open-shop employer in the unorganized South, under his Confederate flag, is ridiculing the improverished worker's demand for higher wages.
