Fur and Leather Workers at Labor Day parade, New York City, 1981.

The 1981 Labor Day parade was an especially large one, in protest against President Regan's anti union activities. The Fur, Leather & Machine Workers union president was Henry Foner, one of the directors of the Labor Arts website. Black and white marchers carry signs supporting the striking air traffic controllers, whose union was destroyed by President Reagan during the bitter PATCO strike that year.
