Bookkeepers, Stenographers and Accountants Union picket, circa 1930s.

Police men stand chatting in a friendly fashion on either side of these picketers. The man's sign reads "The Workers of Globe Mail Service on Strike;" the woman's sign contains a disparaging illustration of a Chinese worker speaking Chinese, which is purported to translate as: " $6 - $11 a week are fair coolie wages."
