Ansel Adams in his natural environment - Yosemite, Spring 1938

Seema Weatherwax got her job as an assistant to photographer Ansel Adams with the help of her friend Chan Weston's father, the famous photographer Edward Weston.

She worked for Adams from 1938-1941, in his Yosemite darkroom, and on photography trips around California. She was not a student of Adam's, and never showed him her photographs, even though she took some of them while she assisted him in the field.
