Labor Arts at the Ethical Culture Street Fair 2025
All afternoon – stop by to meet the folks who bring you LaborArts:
Responsible Clothing (Noon – 2pm)
Join Salome Valter and Hazel Kaminsky (young activists from the Little Environmentalists Society), Lidia Correa and friends (retired ILGWU organizers and activists), Andi Sosin and Joel Sosinsky (Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition) for conversation and crafts.
Health Care for All (2 – 3pm)
Evie Rich’s nine decades have been devoted to fighting segregation and discrimination, lobbying for proper school funding and advocating for senior citizens. Today she speaks frequently at rallies for fair health care for NYC retirees and fair treatment for domestic workers. Join her for conversation and a sneak preview of her forthcoming book Civil Rights Warrior.
Helping Immigrants (3 – 4pm)
Kitty Weiss Krupat’s social justice activism has included being a labor organizer in the publishing and university staff sectors, a peace activist, and a worker education leader. Her current work helping immigrants is with the Rutgers Church New Americans Committee and their asylum support group.
Childcare and Working Women (4 – 5pm)
Debby King has been fighting for pay equity and recognition for care work for over half a century, with the hospital workers union 1199, and later with the National Domestic Workers Alliance. She continues to support the New York Union Childcare Coalition and the childcare agenda of the Mamdani campaign.
