ILGWU flyer featuring individual workers in garment shops in other town, and their stories, followed by the comment “Now you know why Mr. Guthunz wouldn’t let a group of you get off to visit these union shops in Arkansas!”
One featured worker is Thelma Williams, an operator at Climatic of Clinton…a union member for only a year but with $2015 in benefits from the union health fund. She “never thought of being a union member,” but now “could kiss the card I signed for the union.”
