“Hard Lives of Garment Workers” was the headline about this quilt depicting the section work and skilled tasks, done repeatedly, on a garment factory assembly line. The quilt, designed by Debbie S. Lee, was sewn by garment worker volunteers who devoted Sundays—their only day off—to the project for the Museum of Chinese in America’s exhibit.
