Public commemorations have a special power, evident here at the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Triangle Factory Fire. Crowds fill the streets and government and union officials fill the grandstand in front of NYU’s Brown Building on Washington Place. Formerly called the Asch Building, it housed the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory.
