New York Joint Board, ACTWU

Blue cloth with gold lettering and fringe. The center logo reads: Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union, ACTWU, AFL–CIO, CLC.

The ACTWU New York Joint Board traces its origins to 1913, and its role has evolved in the decades since. They allowed many labor and other groups to use their large meeting room at 35 West 15th Street over the years, and it was this room that housed all of the ACWA and ACTWU banners displayed in this LaborArts exhibit. Most of the banners were recently donated to the Kheel Center at Cornell University.
