Social Unionism in Action

Los Angeles:Know where you stand with seniority!

Private collection.

Los Ángeles:¡Conozca sus derechos a tener senoria!

Private collection.

Flyer in English and Spanish, circa 1970s.

The text effectively makes the case for seniority, a fundamental principle of unionization, detailing how it protects workers.

It reads in part: There’s no need to pull petals off a daisy and recite, “The boss loves me, he loves me not, loves me, loves me not…” There’s no need to worry about whether or not the foreman loves you—when you’re protected by a good seniority clause in your union contract.
